I led the rebranding process for Global Affairs at UC Davis with the goals of:
- creating a unified look and feel, while still maintaining individual identities of various centers and programs, and
- complying with university brand standards.
The process included developing a strategic communications plan to determine various aspects of organizational identity. I assessed what currently existed across Global Affairs, and why, gained insights from leadership and staff members on vision and needs, and found out what options for change were available within the university branding system.
I then managed the lifecycle of the project with various stakeholders to develop a new visual identity, including developing a style tile and implementing a new logo system, to then be updated across web, social, print, etc.
Given this was a big change, to ensure success, we held information sessions and created branding and style guidelines along with 100+ templates for flyers, digital banners, presentations, publications and reports.
Here are some “before and after” examples of the change we undertook.
Before: Logos

After: Logos
The new logo system also provides increased flexibility with structure and color.
Before: Websites
After: Websites
As a part of the rebranding process, we also developed new websites with unified visual identity, implementing the new logo system and organizational hierarchy across several Global Affairs websites.
Templates
We made templates based on the most common needs of the 100+ staff members so print and digital materials would remain consistent, including flyers, one sheets, reports and PowerPoint presentation templates customized per program/logo.
