I am an experienced writer with expertise in storytelling strategies, feature writing, and publication writing. With skills in interviewing, photography, and web editing, I often fully produce web stories and features. Here are some examples of my work.

Storytelling Strategy

In my role leading communications for Global Affairs at UC Davis, one of my goals was “to tell the UC Davis global story” and to do so, I developed a framework for storytelling to effectively reach several different audiences with many content types and through various channels. This included news and media, feature series, blogging and announcements.

One example of a feature series, is the Global Aggies storytelling initiative, which integrated features across web, social, video, print, signage, and more. The goal was to tell easy-to-consume stories of people living the Global Affairs mission to inspire global curiosity, understanding, and engagement.

One Feature, Two Ways

Often, it’s best to meet audiences where they are at. For most, it’s online, so web stories work well. For others, a printed handout of the same story will resonate more. For these reasons, this faculty feature made both a good web story, to be then shared through social media, newsletters, and blogs, as well as a good printed handout for international delegation visits, donors, and more.
